Meeting Chaired by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Reviews Ramazan Preparations

With the blessed month of Ramazan approaching, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated effective implementation of a comprehensive Ramazan Relief Plan to provide maximum ease and comfort to the people. In this regard, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a high-level meeting to review province-wide preparations for Ramazan and issued detailed directives to the concerned departments and district administrations.

The Chief Secretary directed that price monitoring desks have been established in all districts, where continuous vigilance over the prices of essential commodities will be ensured. He emphasized that indiscriminate action must continue against hoarding, adulteration, inflation, and profiteering. Additional price magistrates have been assigned responsibilities to ensure swift and effective enforcement.

Stressing the importance of cooperation and mutual respect, the Chief Secretary instructed authorities to maintain close coordination with market associations and the trader community.

District administrations were also directed to deal with all citizens, including street vendors, with dignity, compassion, and within the bounds of law.

The meeting was informed that, keeping in view the sanctity of Ramazan, a joint strategy is being formulated in collaboration with respected religious scholars to discourage adulteration, price hikes, and profiteering. Public awareness in this regard will also be promoted through Friday sermons, highlighting moral responsibility.

In addition, comprehensive plans have been put in place for traffic management, cleanliness of markets, and the organized elimination of professional begging, to maintain order and dignity in public spaces during the holy month.
The meeting was further briefed that, with the support of philanthropists and welfare organizations, Ramazan Dastarkhwans will be arranged at various locations to provide food to the needy and deserving. Special coordination is also being maintained with relevant institutions to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and gas.

For prompt redressal of public grievances, dedicated WhatsApp numbers have been issued in all districts, enabling citizens to lodge complaints regarding price hikes or shortages. Complaints can also be submitted through the Marastyal App for added convenience.

The Chief Secretary reaffirmed that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is fully committed to facilitating the public and providing maximum relief during the blessed month of Ramazan, and that all available resources will be utilized to serve the public.
