Shahab Ali Shah on Monday directed authorities to accelerate the completion of ongoing development schemes across the province, stating that the provincial government is committed to ensuring timely delivery of public welfare projects under the vision of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Chairing a meeting on governance and development initiatives, the Chief Secretary instructed the Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take effective measures for the speedy execution and completion of development projects.

The meeting was informed that a majority of public welfare-oriented schemes are expected to be completed during the current financial year, which would significantly improve service delivery and infrastructure facilities for the people of the province.

During the meeting, officials also briefed participants about measures being taken to curb illegal deforestation and timber smuggling in the province. The Chief Secretary was informed that a digital dashboard has been established to monitor actions against illegal cutting of forests.

The dashboard contains detailed information regarding forest areas, field operations, complaint management, and enforcement actions carried out by the relevant authorities. Officials said the system would help improve transparency, monitoring, and timely response against forest-related crimes.

The meeting was further informed that intelligence-based operations are being conducted against timber mafia networks involved in illegal logging and transportation of timber.

The Chief Secretary emphasized strict enforcement of environmental laws and directed authorities concerned to continue coordinated actions to protect forest resources and ensure sustainable environmental management across the province.
