Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a review meeting on the good governance roadmap implementation of Housing and Livestock Departments with Secretaries and relevant officials.
The meeting reviewed milestones of the Housing Department. It was informed that an online payment system in line with the government’s cashless economy initiative has been launched. A land sharing management system for the New Peshawar Valley has been developed, featuring an online system with Google Maps that shows Mauzas Khasras of the New Peshawar Valley.
The Chief Secretary directed that the system should provide end-to-end information for users, emphasizing that the awareness map is created for the public.
The Housing Department has fully adopted EPADs (E-Pak Acquisition and Disposal System) for transparency and e-procurement. An online grievance redressal system and public feedback system are operational in the department. Regional Facilitation Centers have been established in four divisions: Peshawar, Malakand, Kohat, and Hazara completed. Work is progressing smoothly on the New Peshawar Valley and Bani Gul Housing schemes. The government has decided that every new housing scheme should include green spaces.
The meeting was also updated on the Ehsaas Apna Ghar initiative, which provides interest-free loans of up to Rs 1.5 million to low-income individuals for building homes.
The Livestock Department’s milestones were also reviewed, including initiatives to double the vaccination rate from 7% to 15% for large animals. The department is also working on developing 571 acres of land in Hari Chan through Public Private Partnership for corporate cattle farming, with milestones on track. Additionally, the department is distributing livestock units to 1,000 vulnerable farmers, focusing on women and vulnerable communities, with the objective of poverty elimination. The expansion of veterinary health services through support to unemployed DVM graduates and strengthening service delivery in underserved areas is also underway.
The Chief Secretary instructed the KP IT Board to develop a real-time app for tracking the vaccination process in livestock department.
Furthermore, CS said that teams to inspect facilities on the ground across different departments in line with the good governance roadmap.
