KP Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department thwarts multiple narcotics smuggling attempts; several accused arrested and large quantity of hashish recovered

In line with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and under the directions of Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan, the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department has intensified its ongoing operations across the province against drug dealers and smugglers.

During a series of successful intelligence-based operations conducted by Excise Intelligence and Excise Police Station Peshawar, multiple attempts at narcotics smuggling were thwarted, significant quantities of hashish were recovered and several accused persons were arrested with cases registered against them.

In one operation conducted by Excise Intelligence on Service Road Peshawar, 3,600 grams of hashish were recovered from an accused, who was arrested on the spot.

Similarly, during another operation near Motorway Chaman Park, 18,000 grams of hashish were recovered from a motor car bearing registration number ACS-277, and two accused were apprehended.

In a separate operation, Excise Intelligence intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number LET-3903 near H-Gol Chowk, recovering 12,000 grams of hashish. An attempt to smuggle narcotics was thwarted and two accused were arrested.

In another action by Excise Police Station Peshawar, an attempt to smuggle narcotics on a motorcycle via Motorway Service Road was thwarted, resulting in the recovery of 3,600 grams of hashish and arrest of the alleged smuggler.

These operations were carried out under the supervision of Saud Khan Gandapur, Provincial In-charge, Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation, and Majid Khan, Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations), with the assistance of concerned inspectors, SHOs and other staff. FIRs have been registered against the arrested accused and further investigation is in progress.
