KP Excise Foils Major Drug-Smuggling Attempt; 300 KG of High-Quality Hashish Seized from Mazda Container in Mardan

In a major success against narcotics trafficking, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department thwarted a large-scale smuggling attempt in Mardan, recovering 300,000 grams (300 kilograms) of high-quality hashish concealed in a Mazda container. The seized narcotics are valued in crores of rupees.
Acting under the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs, the Excise Intelligence Bureau (EIB) conducted the successful operation on the directives of Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan.
The operation was led by Provincial In-charge Excise Intelligence Bureau, Saud Khan Gandapur and Excise & Taxation Officer (Counter-Narcotics Operations), Majid Khan.
The team, including Inspectors Zarjan Khan and Ajmal Lodhi along with other field staff, acted swiftly on a tip-off and intercepted a suspicious Mazda Titan vehicle on Ring Road, Mardan.
A thorough search of the vehicle revealed several concealed compartments inside the mounted container, from which a huge quantity of hashish was recovered.
According to the Excise Department, the narcotics, worth crores, were being transported for inter-provincial smuggling.
A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation has been handed over to Excise Police Station, Mardan Region. The department has reiterated its resolve that the crackdown against drug dealers, traffickers android facilitators will continue across the province without discrimination.
