Survey Takes Place for the Establishment of Pakhtunkhwa Radio Chitral

On the special directives of Deputy Speaker Suriya Bibi, a survey team of the Information and Public Relations Department visited Upper Chitral from May 13 to 15 to identify a suitable government building/site for the establishment of Pakhtunkhwa Radio Chitral.
The survey team was headed by Deputy Secretary Information and Public Relations Anwar Akbar Khan and also included Deputy Director Information Nizam Uddin and Engr. Muhammad Jalal, Incharge Pakhtunkhwa Radio Swat. The team held meetings with the district administration and inspected various government facilities to assess their technical suitability, accessibility, electricity availability, security, and feasibility for installation of transmission equipment and radio studios.
Based on the survey recommendations, necessary coordination will be initiated with the relevant departments for acquisition of space and installation of the transmission tower so that the radio station can be made operational at the earliest.
Pakhtunkhwa Radio Chitral, which is proposed to be launched as an ADP project, is expected to play a vital role in promoting education, culture, local languages, public awareness, and timely dissemination of information in the remote mountainous region of Upper Chitral. The station would also serve as an effective platform for emergency communication during natural disasters and adverse weather conditions, besides strengthening the connection between the government and local communities.
