International Civil Defence Day was observed on March 1st in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with great enthusiasm and national spirit. In this connection, under the auspices of Civil Defence Pakistan, special ceremonies, awareness programs, and practical exercises were organized in all 36 districts of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

At the ceremony held in the district of Nowshera, officers, volunteers, and local elders of Civil Defence participated enthusiastically under the leadership of Director Civil Defence Nowshera, Zahid Usman Kaka. On this occasion, the role of Civil Defence—particularly its preparedness in wartime situations—was prominently highlighted.

Speakers stated that in view of the current global circumstances, the responsibilities of Civil Defence have become more important than ever before. In wartime conditions, the primary objective of Civil Defence is to ensure the safety of the civilian population, provide immediate assistance during emergencies, and safeguard the lives and property of citizens during potential enemy attacks. For this purpose, the personnel and volunteers of Civil Defence Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remain fully prepared at all times through regular training programs and practical exercises.

During the events held across the province, practical demonstrations were also presented regarding emergency response, civilian evacuation, first aid, firefighting, and public safety during crises. The purpose of these activities was to ensure that, in the event of any unforeseen war or emergency situation, Civil Defence volunteers and staff can promptly assist and guide the public.

Speakers also emphasized that Civil Defence is not limited to wartime situations; during peacetime, it remains actively engaged in assisting the public in cases of natural disasters, fires, accidents, and other emergencies. Volunteers of Civil Defence Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not only enhancing their capabilities through various training programs but are also promoting safety awareness among the public.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for national security, peace, stability, and the protection of citizens. A renewed commitment was expressed that Civil Defence Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will continue to serve with the same spirit to safeguard the public in all types of wartime or emergency situations.
