The Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations, Shafiullah Jan, formally assumed charge of his office yesterday. Officers of the Information and Public Relations Department and distinguished individuals from various walks of life welcomed the Special Assistant on this occasion.
While speaking on the occasion Special Assistant Shafiullah Jan expressed gratitude to his leader Imran Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Suhaib Afridi for reposing their trust in him and assigning him this important responsibility.
He stated that he would make every possible effort to ensure a visible and effective transformation within the Information Department and to project the government’s narrative across all media platforms through a modern and strategic communication approach.
He further emphasized that the stance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the vision of the provincial government, and the priorities and interests of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be articulated and represented strongly at every forum.
“Our narrative is strong, clear, and rooted in the public. It will now be communicated confidently and with a well-organized strategy,” he added.
Referring to the journalist community, Shafiullah Jan acknowledged the sacrifices made by journalists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who have served on the frontline and contributed to peace efforts over the past four decades.
He announced that social support initiatives would be launched for journalists to ensure their welfare and protection.
The Special Assistant further informed that the Chief Minister has approved the establishment of a Journalism University named after the martyred journalist Arshad Sharif, which will strengthen academic advancement and research in the field of journalism.
Shafiullah Jan stated unequivocally that this time, the Information and Public Relations Department will witness a real and measurable transformation, which will be reflected through performance and results.
