The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for irrigation Riaz Khan chaired an important review meeting regarding various departmental schemes, in the committee room of the Irrigation department. The meeting included a detailed review of the progress on ongoing projects under the Pehur High Level Canal (PHLC) and the Emergency Flood Assistance Project (EFAP).
The meeting was attended by Project Director PHLC, Engineer Zar Gul Khan—who is also holding the additional charge of Project Director EFAP—along with relevant officials and technical experts.
The Provincial Minister was given a comprehensive briefing on the progress of projects under PHLC and EFAP. It is said in the meeting that several projects are nearing completion, while progress on others is satisfactory.
The PD also informed about the challenges being faced, including timely release of funds, technical issues, and field-level obstacles. Proposed measures to address these challenges were also discussed.
Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing progress, Provincial Minister Riaz Khan emphasized the importance of timely completion of projects while ensuring high quality standards. He directed the concerned authorities to further accelerate the pace of work on all ongoing schemes.
He also instructed that transparency and merit must be ensured in all projects, and that the monitoring system should be further strengthened to guarantee the effective utilization of funds. The Provincial Minister urged field officers to demonstrate seriousness in resolving public issues and to make timely decisions based on ground realities.
The Provincial Minister further said that the current KP government is utilizing all available resources to ensure timely completion of public welfare projects and to achieve sustainable development.
