وزیر قانون انسانی حقوق و پارلیمانی امور خیبر پختونخوا آفتاب عالم نے کہا ہے کہ صوبائی حکومت بانی چیئرمین عمران خان کے وژن اور وزیراعلیٰ خیبرپختونخوا کی ہدایات کی روشنی میں قانون سازی اور انتظامی اصلاحات کے ذریعے عوام کو مؤثر، شفاف اور سہل خدمات کی فراہمی کے لیے کوشاں ہے۔انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ صوبائی حکومت انتظامی نظام کو مظبوط بنانے اور قانونی اصلاحات کے عمل کو تیز کرنے کے لئے عمل پیرا ہے۔ ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں بدھ کے روز پشاور میں منعقد ہونے والے کابینہ کی تشکیل کردہ قائمہ کمیٹی کے اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے کیا۔اجلاس میں صوبائی وزیر ابتدائی و ثانوی تعلیم ارشد ایوب، وزیر بلدیات و اعلیٰ تعلیم مینا خان آفریدی، مشیر خزانہ مزمل اسلم سمیت متعلقہ محکموں کے اعلیٰ حکام نے شرکت کی۔اجلاس میں مختلف اہم عوامی اور قانونی امور پر غور کیا گیا۔ کمیٹی نے ہری پور میں منکھنیال ایریا کو اربن ایریا ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی (UADA) میں شامل کرنے کی تجویز کا جائزہ لیا۔ اجلاس میں نان کمرشل ڈرائیونگ لائسنس کے اجراء کا اختیار پولیس سے محکمہ ٹرانسپورٹ کو منتقل کرنے کی تجویز کے قانونی، انتظامی اور عوامی سہولت سے متعلق مختلف پہلوؤں پر بھی تفصیلی غور کیا گیا۔اجلاس میں سینیٹر اعون عباس کی جانب سے پیش کیے گئے آئینی ترمیمی بل 2024 سے متعلق آئینی و قانونی معاملات کا بھی جائزہ لیا گیا اور متعلقہ محکموں کی آراء سنی گئیں۔
وزیر قانون نے متعلقہ محکموں کو ہدایت کی کہ تمام تجاویز کے قانونی، آئینی اور انتظامی پہلوؤں کا باریک بینی سے جائزہ لے کر سفارشات مرتب کی جائیں تاکہ عوامی مفاد کے مطابق مؤثر فیصلے کیے جا سکیں۔اجلاس کے اختتام پر مختلف ایجنڈا آئٹمز پر مزید قانونی و انتظامی مشاورت جاری رکھنے اور آئندہ اجلاس میں پیش رفت رپورٹ پیش کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی۔

Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Agriculture, Mian Muhammad Umar, attended a Sona Kisan Convention as a chief guest at a hotel in Peshawar. The event was attended by senior officials of Agriculture Department, agricultural experts, representatives of farmers organizations, stakeholders from the seed, fertilizer and pesticide sectors as well as a large number of farmers from different districts of province.

Addressing the convention, Mian Muhammad Umar said that development of agriculture sector and prosperity of farmers are among top priorities of provincial government. He stated that agriculture is backbone of national economy and plays a vital role in country’s development. Therefore, providing farmers with modern facilities, quality agricultural services and timely technical guidance is essential. He emphasized that sustainable agricultural growth cannot be achieved without facilitating and supporting the farming community.

Advisor Agriculture further said that under leadership of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, provincial government is taking comprehensive and effective measures to modernize agriculture, increase farmers’ incomes and enhance agricultural productivity. He added that government is focusing on promotion of modern agricultural technologies, certified seeds, balanced use of fertilizers, modern irrigation systems, agricultural research and extension services to enable farmers to achieve higher yields and better returns with reduced production costs.

Mian Muhammad Umar stressed that creating greater convenience for farmers is essential to increasing per-acre crop yields. He said that establishment of Farm Services Centers across province provide farmers with access to multiple agricultural services, technical assistance and advisory support under one roof, significantly reducing their problems and strengthening agricultural sector.

He urged farmers to adopt modern farming practices and follow recommendations of agricultural experts to improve productivity and profitability. He added that Provincial government remains in close contact with farming community and is incorporating their feedback into agricultural policymaking.

Mian Muhammad Umar further announced that e-Minister Web Portal ( http://eminister.kp.gov.pk) is launched through which farmers can directly submit their complaints, problems and suggestions to the Advisor on Agriculture. He assured participants that all genuine complaints would be addressed promptly to ensure transparent, efficient and farmer-friendly service delivery.

Concluding his speech, Advisor Agriculture appreciated the efforts of the organizers and said that such conventions play a significant role in strengthening coordination between government, Agriculture Department and farming community, while also promoting the exchange of modern agricultural knowledge and contributing to sustainable development of the agriculture sector.

Provincial government is taking effective measures to provide integrated and modern emergency services to the public, says Tariq Saeed Marwat

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, Tariq Saeed Marwat, has said that the provincial government is taking effective measures to provide the public with modern, integrated and efficient emergency services.

He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Pakhtunkhwa Emergency Helpline (PEHL-911). Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Tribal Affairs Department, Ikramullah Khan, senior government officials, representatives of law enforcement agencies and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.

Participants were given a comprehensive briefing on the PEHL-911 project. They were informed that the initiative marks a significant step towards establishing an integrated, modern and round-the-clock emergency response system in the province. Through PEHL-911, citizens will be able to access the police, Rescue services, PDMA and other emergency services by dialing a single emergency number, 911.

The briefing further highlighted that citizens will be able to place emergency calls to 911 even without an active SIM card or mobile network, enabling timely assistance and guidance in remote and hard-to-reach areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Tariq Saeed Marwat said that PEHL-911 would play a pivotal role in modernizing the province’s public safety and emergency response system. He directed the concerned authorities to establish an effective mechanism to prevent fake and unnecessary calls so that the helpline’s capacity remains available for genuine emergencies.

He further directed that a comprehensive system be developed for the effective monitoring, tracking and follow-up of all incoming calls and reported emergency incidents to ensure the timely delivery of efficient and quality emergency services to the public.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums, Malik Adil Iqbal, chaired an important meeting with a World Bank delegation to review the progress of road infrastructure projects being implemented under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism Development Project (KITE).

The meeting focused on the construction and upgradation of roads in major tourist destinations, particularly Mankial, Abbottabad and Thandiani, with the aim of improving connectivity and enhancing the overall tourism experience.

Senior representatives from the Tourism Department, Communication and Works Department, Planning and Development Department, the World Bank and other relevant stakeholders attended the meeting.

Participants were briefed on the pace of work, quality standards, implementation challenges and the way forward for the timely completion of the projects. The meeting also discussed measures to ensure that the road schemes are completed in accordance with prescribed quality standards and within the stipulated timelines.

Speaking on the occasion, Malik Adil Iqbal directed all concerned departments to ensure the timely completion of the projects while maintaining high construction standards. He emphasized that improved road infrastructure is essential to providing safe, convenient and reliable access to tourist destinations across the province.

The Special Assistant said that tourism is a key driver of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s economy and that the provincial government is fully committed to investing all available resources to strengthen the sector and unlock its economic potential.

The meeting decided that a follow-up review session on the progress of the projects would be held after 15 days to assess implementation and address any outstanding issues.

A total of 52 new buses procured for the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system are now ready for shipment to Pakistan. The initiative is being undertaken on the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, to expand the BRT fleet and further improve public transport services for masses.

According to spokesperson of BRT, the induction of these buses will increase the total fleet size to 296 buses. The first batch of 25 buses is expected to arrive in Pakistan in early July, while the remaining buses will be delivered in subsequent shipments.

The new buses will operate on both the BRT Main Corridor and feeder routes, enhancing service capacity, reducing passenger waiting times, and effectively meeting the growing demand for public transportation.

With the addition of the new fleet, TransPeshawar will also launch a dedicated Pink Bus Service for women. Under this initiative, selected buses will be reserved exclusively for female passengers, providing them with a safer, more comfortable, and convenient travel experience, particularly during peak hours.

According to spokesperson, TransPeshawar is also working on the introduction of new routes to further expand access to safe, reliable, and high-quality public transport services across the city.

The addition of these new buses reflects TransPeshawar’s continued commitment to providing modern and efficient public transportation under the guidance of the Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Transport and Mass Transit, Samiullah Khan, the Board of Directors, Secretary Transport Muhammad Zubair, and Managing Director KPUMA, Iftikhar Khan, while addressing the growing mobility needs of the people of Peshawar.

Provincial Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan strongly condemned refusal to allow family members and lawyers to meet Founding Chairman Imran Khan, stating that illegal restriction on such meetings constitutes a clear violation of Constitution and court directives.

He said that federal and Punjab governments which he described as having come to power through “Form 47,” have crossed all limits of political victimization.

He stated that depriving Imran Khan of his constitutional, legal and fundamental human rights is highly condemnable and deeply regrettable.

Shafi Jan further stated that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been kept in solitary confinement for more than eight months, describing it as a serious violation of human rights and a blatant breach of Constitution and law. He also said that they have been denied Class B prison facilities and that negligence has been shown regarding Imran Khan’s health.

He said that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi, Imran Khan’s sisters, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had pursued every constitutional and legal avenue to secure permission for meetings with Imran Khan. However, despite these efforts, federal and Punjab governments continue to deny such permission.

Shafi Jan demanded that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi be immediately transferred to Al-Shifa Eye Hospital, arguing that PIMS Hospital does not have a retina specialist.
He further said that Nawaz Sharif had access to his personal doctors and was regularly visited by his party leadership and family members. In contrast, Imran Khan has been denied medical treatment, family meetings and other basic facilities, which he said is contrary to principles of justice.

He called for full implementation of court orders and legal requirements, demanding that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi be provided all facilities in accordance with Constitution and Law.

Shafi Jan concluded by saying that group he described as having assumed power through “Form 47” has forgotten that its days in power are numbered. He reaffirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would continue its peaceful political, constitutional and legal struggle for supremacy of Constitution, rule of law and democracy.
