Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province have launched a plan to modernize Hangu Phatak Chowk in Kohat, aiming to reduce mounting traffic pressure and improve urban mobility.
The project is being undertaken on the directives of the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan, with support from the Member of the National Assembly Shehryar Afridi. Senior officials, including Highway Executive Engineer Jawad, Sub-Divisional Officer Zahid Khan and Architect Engineer Waseem, along with the members of PTI team, inspected the site to assess traffic flow and public concerns.
Under the plan, diversions will be constructed on three sides of the intersection to streamline traffic movement and curb congestion. The redesign is part of broader efforts to upgrade civic infrastructure through modern urban planning.
Shafi Jan said the government was committed to permanent and sustainable solutions to urban challenges, adding that the upgraded intersection would significantly improve daily commuting for residents.
Authorities expect noticeable improvements in traffic management once construction is completed.
