The spokesperson of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said that the 4th Development Review Meeting for the financial year 2025–26 was held under the chairmanship of the Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Saadat Hassan. The meeting was attended by representatives and senior officials from the Planning & Development Department (P&D), Directorate of Works, Directorate of Sports, and Directorate of Youth Affairs.
During the meeting, the Secretary was given a comprehensive briefing on the status of ongoing and newly approved projects being executed under both the Sports and Youth Affairs Directorates. The officials presented detailed progress reports on approved, non-approved, and under-consideration projects, highlighting current challenges, budgetary status, and timelines for completion.
Key projects discussed included the establishment of futsal grounds, martial arts arenas, horse riding clubs, Jawan marakiz and polo grounds, as well as the provision of missing facilities in the Jamrud Sports Complex and many other projects. The forum also reviewed the construction of playgrounds at the union council level to promote healthy activities among youth in rural and urban areas alike.
The Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, appreciated the efforts of the concerned officers and directed them to accelerate work on all ongoing and pending projects to ensure their timely completion. He emphasized the importance of quality work, transparency, and efficient utilization of funds to maximize public benefit.
The Secretary reiterated that the Sports and Youth Affairs Department is committed to providing modern sports infrastructure and platforms for youth empowerment across the province, in line with the vision of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
