The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering, Fazal Shakoor Khan, on Wednesday presided over an important review meeting regarding the mega schemes of PHE department at the conference room of the department.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Public Health Engineering Masood Younis, Chief Engineers, Director Technical, Director Lab, and other concerned officers. The Provincial Minister was given a detailed briefing on the approved and unapproved Water Supply and Sanitation sector schemes for the fiscal year 2025–26.
During the briefing, a comprehensive discussion was held on the progress achieved so far on ongoing schemes, challenges being faced, timely release of funds, and administrative matters.
Various proposals were considered to expedite the completion of projects and to ensure the timely provision of clean drinking water and improved sanitation facilities to the public.
The meeting also held an in-depth discussion on the proposed Annual Development Programme (ADP) schemes for the fiscal year 2026–27, and priorities were determined accordingly.
On this occasion, the Provincial Minister was also briefed in detail about the pre-qualification criteria for companies and firms for the solarization of tube wells, aimed at ensuring transparency and quality standards.
The Provincial Minister directed that all ongoing schemes be properly categorized and that those nearing completion should be prioritized for early completion. He emphasized that the preparation of a comprehensive master plan is essential to ensure future planning is well-coordinated, effective, and sustainable.
