A meeting regarding the integration of Intensive Care Units (ICU) under the Sehat Card Plus Program was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Health Khaliq ur Rehman. The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Shahid Ullah Khan, CEO SHPI, Divisional Head State Life, Regional Chief, Zonal Head, PMO State Life, representatives of Medical Teaching Institutions (MTIs) Peshawar, and officials from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission.

During the meeting, the Divisional Head State Life presented a detailed briefing on the ICU Bed Integration System. Participants were also given a demonstration of the system, which shows real-time availability of ICU beds across panel hospitals. It was explained that through this system, all panel hospitals will be able to view the real-time availability of ICU beds in other panel hospitals before referring a patient. This will help ensure timely and appropriate referral of patients to facilities where ICU beds are available.

The meeting was further informed that the integrated system will facilitate both public and private panel hospitals in managing patients more efficiently. Through improved coordination with State Life, the system will help ensure optimal utilization of ICU facilities and strengthen the overall patient management process. It was also shared that the package rates for ICU treatment have been re-negotiated with the panel hospitals to ensure better service delivery and improved patient care.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Provincial Minister for Health Khaliq ur Rehman emphasized the need for early implementation of the integration model across all panel hospitals in Peshawar to enhance coordination between hospitals and improve patient care.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that the project will initially be launched in the major hospitals of the Peshawar region and will soon be expanded to other key hospitals across the province. He reiterated that the government is committed to introducing modern systems in the health sector to provide coordinated, professional, and quality healthcare services to the people.
