In a major step toward empowering the youth of the province through quality higher education, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Workers Welfare Board (WWB) has officially released a significant funding grant of Rs. 74,630,250 to COMSATS University, Abbottabad Campus. The provincial Minister for Labour Faisal Khan Tarakai, announced the disbursement, reiterating the government’s firm commitment to ensuring that the children of registered industrial workers face no financial hurdles in pursuing professional degrees. Under the guiding vision of “Our Workers, Our Priority,” the Department of Labour is actively working to bridge educational gaps and provide the best possible academic resources to the families of laborers.
Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai stated that the socioeconomic development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is deeply linked to the educational advancement of its youth. He emphasized that by securing timely funding for premier institutes like COMSATS Abbottabad, the government is not only supporting student education but also strengthening communities and empowering future generations. The Minister highlighted that the Workers Welfare Board is undergoing comprehensive reforms to streamline fund utilization, optimize transparency, and ensure that educational grants, scholarships, and welfare stipends are delivered swiftly without administrative delays. The administration of COMSATS University Abbottabad has expressed its gratitude to the KPK Workers Welfare Board and Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai for the prompt financial support, noting that it will significantly facilitate ongoing academic operations and student support programs.
