Provincial Minister for Health Khaliq Ur Rehman chairs an important meeting with a delegation of World Bank officials

Provincial Minister for Health Khaliq Ur Rehman chaired an important meeting with a delegation of World Bank officials today to discuss ongoing cooperation and support for the health sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Secretary Health Shahid Ullah Khan, senior officials of the Health Department, and representatives of the World Bank also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the World Bank delegation provided a comprehensive briefing on the financial and technical assistance being extended to various healthcare programs and development initiatives across the province. The delegation highlighted the progress of ongoing projects, future areas of collaboration, and efforts aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery systems, improving service quality, and expanding access to essential health services for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Provincial Minister for Health Khaliq Ur Rehman appreciated the World Bank’s longstanding partnership and valuable contributions towards the development of the health sector in the province. He thanked the delegation for its consistent financial and technical support and acknowledged the important role played by the World Bank in advancing key healthcare reforms and development initiatives.
The Minister reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to providing quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare services to all citizens. He stated that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is actively pursuing a comprehensive health reform agenda focused on strengthening primary and secondary healthcare, improving health infrastructure, enhancing human resource capacity, and ensuring efficient service delivery across the province.
The meeting also discussed opportunities to further strengthen collaboration between the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the World Bank, enhance the effectiveness of ongoing programs, and explore new avenues of support to address emerging healthcare challenges. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working together for improved health outcomes and sustainable development of the healthcare sector.
The Provincial Minister expressed confidence that the continued partnership between the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the World Bank will contribute significantly to strengthening healthcare systems, improving health indicators, and ensuring better healthcare services for the people of the province.
