The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday reviewed and finalized preparations for holding mega events across the province to celebrate the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal with religious zeal and fervor. The development came during a high-level meeting chaired by the KP Secretary for Hajj, Auqaf, Minority and Religious Affairs, Ata-ur-Rehman. The session was attended by senior officials from the protocol wing, administration department, information department, traffic police, and Rescue 1122. During the briefing, representatives from the participating departments presented their respective action plans and strategies to ensure the smooth and peaceful execution of the scheduled events.
Secretary Ata-ur-Rehman directed the Information Department to ensure comprehensive media coverage of all religious events. He emphasized utilizing print, electronic, and social media platforms to effectively broadcast the positive message of these celebrations, showcasing a peaceful image of the province. Officials from the Information Department assured the chair that all institutional arrangements for live coverage and publicity had been completed.
The Secretary further stressed the need for seamless coordination among all line departments to finalize security measures, traffic management, and emergency medical services well in time. The traffic police were directed to issue alternative route plans to prevent public inconvenience, while Rescue 1122 was put on high alert. The local administration was also tasked with ensuring city cleanliness and beautification ahead of the grand events.
