A meeting of the Project Implementation Committee (PIC) of the TVET-IV Project was held today under the co-chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Usman Bettani, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Technical Education and Chairman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (KP-TEVTA), and Mr. Jeroen Willems, Head of Cooperation, European Union Delegation to Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Mian Abdul Qadir Shah, Managing Director, KP-TEVTA; Mr. Mansoor Zaib Khan, Head of Project; Ms. Franziska Co, Head of TVET SSP; Mr. Tahir Khan, Regional Coordinator, TVET SSP; Aseema of the British Council, along with representatives of relevant public and private sector institutions.
The meeting reviewed in detail the progress achieved so far under the TVET-IV Project. Key implementation matters and challenges were discussed, while the work plan, priorities and strategic actions for the upcoming quarter were also deliberated upon.
All partners reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system in Pakistan.
The participants agreed to further promote quality skills development, strengthen linkages with industry, create better employment opportunities for youth, and make TVET more responsive to labour market needs.
The meeting also emphasized that all relevant stakeholders would continue their efforts through mutual cooperation to improve the TVET sector and develop a skilled workforce.
