Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Science Technology and Information Technology Shafi Jan on Friday directed the officials to accelerate work on ongoing development projects in Kohat and ensure their completion within the stipulated timelines to provide residents with basic services and public facilities.
He issued these directives while chairing a meeting of the heads of relevant government departments at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kohat. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed progress on new and ongoing development schemes in the district, along with measures related to public welfare and government activities in various sectors. The Minister was briefed on the status of projects and the provision of public services.
Shafi Jan said timely completion of public-interest projects was among the government’s priorities and directed the departments to fulfil their responsibilities efficiently. He called for avoiding unnecessary delays and completing ongoing schemes on a priority basis.
The Minister also stressed stronger monitoring of development projects to ensure both quality and timely execution. He said public funds were being spent on development initiatives and it was the responsibility of the relevant departments to ensure that their benefits reached the people without unnecessary delay.
The meeting also discussed measures to address public grievances and improve the delivery of government services. Shafi Jan directed officials to strengthen coordination among departments and adopt an effective mechanism for resolving public complaints. He maintained the objective of development activities was not merely to complete projects but to improve living standards and provide better facilities to the people, urging all departments to improve their performance and keep public interest at the centre of their work
