Excise Intelligence and Excise Police Station Charsadda Conduct Joint Operation

The Excise Intelligence Squad and Excise Police Station Charsadda, in a successful joint operation, foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of heroin and recovered 23.46 kilograms of narcotics from a vehicle. One accused was arrested during the action.

In line with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and the directives of Provincial Minister Excise Syed Fakhar Jehan, the Department of Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control continues its effective operations across the province against drug trafficking, particularly against narcotics including ice and heroin.

As part of these efforts, the Excise Intelligence Squad and Excise Police Station Charsadda conducted a joint operation based on credible information and foiled a major attempt of heroin smuggling.

According to details received from the Excise Department, the team conducted a search operation on Pashtun Ghari Road, Charsadda, and during the search of vehicle number AWA-409, recovered 23,460 grams (23.46 kilograms) of heroin.

During the operation, the accused Umar Khan son of Gul Roz Khan, resident of Khushmaqam, Tehsil Samar Bagh, District Lower Dir, was arrested on the spot.

A case has been registered against the accused at Excise Police Station Charsadda for further legal proceedings, while further investigation is underway.

The Excise Department has reiterated its commitment to continue strict action against narcotics trafficking and those involved in the illegal drug trade across the province.
