The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has formally commenced the disbursement of compensation cheques to the families of those who lost their lives in the recent devastating floods in District Buner.
In this connection, Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhar Jehan, visited the worst-affected area of Beshunai on Monday, where he personally handed over compensation cheques to the families of the flood martyrs.
In line with the commitment of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, for each bereaved, their family is being provided with a cheque of Rs. 2 million.
Deputy Commissioner Buner, Kashif Qayyum, along with senior district administration officials, was also present on the occasion.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, a total of 218 deaths reported due to the floods and the process of compensation disbursement has begun from Beshunai while all the checks pertaining to the martyrs of Buner will be handed over by Tuesday
