In light of provincial government’s order, the Energy and Power Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has organized the seventh online (live) e-Open Kachehri under the ongoing policy of Good Governance Road Map to bring transparency in the administrative affairs of government institutions and to resolve public issues promptly.
Meanwhile, the public actively participated and presented their issues, for which instructions were issued on the spot for their immediate resolution. The e-open court was chaired by Secretary Energy and Power Nisar Ahmed and was attended by all the officers of the department, as well as heads and project directors of the department’s subsidiaries PEDO, KP Oil and Gas Company, Electric Inspectorate and KP Transmission and Grid System Company.
In the e-kachehri, a total of 52 complainants from different districts of the province openly discussed the issues related to energy projects related to the Department of Energy deptt. and all its subsidiaries through telephone calls and the official Facebook page and informed the authorities.
On this occasion, the public called the holding of the e-kachehri by the provincial government a revolutionary step of transparency and merit. During the program, the Secretary Energy expressed strong anger over the public complaints about the slow pace and non-standard construction of mini-micro-hydel stations in some areas and warned the concerned project director that we all have a role in solving public problems.
Nisar has said that we are accountable and strict action will be taken against any negligence in this regard. He added that completing the projects within the stipulated timeline and satisfying the public about the progress is our top priority. He expressed the hope that the holding of open courts is reducing the distance between the public and the institutions and reducing the number of problems. He strictly warned all the officers of the department to take the public issues presented in the open courts seriously and resolve them immediately, otherwise any kind of negligence or carelessness can lead to embarrassment for the institution.
