A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Livestock, chaired by the Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Riaz Khan was held at the Livestock Department’s office in Peshawar

A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Livestock, chaired by the Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Riaz Khan was held at the Livestock Department’s office in Peshawar. The meeting was attended by Secretary Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives Zarif Almani, Director General Livestock Extension Dr. Asal Khan and other senior officers. During the meeting, the proposed development initiatives of the Livestock Department were discussed in detail. On this occasion, Secretary Zarif Almani gave a comprehensive briefing to Provincial Minister Riaz Khan on the portfolio of the livestock sector. It is pertinent to mention that in the 40th Cabinet Committee meeting, two projects of the Livestock Department were referred to the Cabinet Committee on Livestock for further deliberation. Accordingly, Director General Livestock Dr. Asal Khan presented a detailed briefing on both projects which were thoroughly discussed by the committee members. Various aspects of the projects, including their objectives and expected benefits, were reviewed in depth. The members of the Cabinet Committee appreciated the initiatives taken by the Livestock Department; however they suggested certain procedural amendments to the proposed course of action, which were agreed to be incorporated into the PC-I. Addressing the meeting Provincial Minister for Irrigation Riaz Khan stated that under the leadership of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi the provincial government is taking serious and practical measures for the development of the livestock sector, the welfare of farmers and livestock breeders, and the overall economic strengthening of the province. He emphasized that all development projects must be completed in accordance with transparency, efficiency, and prescribed rules so that their benefits can reach the public directly.
