The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has continued its province-wide crackdown against adulteration and the sale of substandard food items.
According to the spokesperson, Food Safety teams, in coordination with district administrations, carried out joint operations in Buner, Battagram, Haripur, Lakki Marwat, Mardan, Lower Dir and Charsadda under the provincial government’s Ramazan Plan.
During the operations, inspections were conducted at meat shops, milk sellers, samosa and pakora outlets, bakeries, kebab shops, general stores and other food businesses. Several outlets were sealed and heavy fines were imposed over violations including the sale of meat from underage animals, use of substandard and rancid cooking oil, poor hygiene conditions and non-compliance with food safety SOPs.
The spokesperson said that in Battagram, the Mansehra Food Safety team confiscated and destroyed 200 liters of substandard cooking oil and 50 kilograms of spoiled liver. In Haripur, 150 liters of adulterated and substandard milk were discarded on the spot after failing tests conducted through mobile food testing laboratory.
Similarly, in Mardan, Lower Dir and Charsadda, cooking oil used at kebab and frying units was tested with modern equipment. Substandard oil was destroyed and fines were imposed accordingly. Improvement notices were also issued to several businesses, while expired licenses were renewed and new licenses were issued where required.
Director General Kashif Iqbal Jilani appreciated the performance of the food safety teams and reiterated that ensuring the provision of safe and quality food to the public remains the top priority of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized that indiscriminate action against the adulteration mafia will continue.
He urged citizens to report any substandard or hazardous food items through the Authority’s toll-free and WhatsApp numbers or at complaint desks established in their respective districts, and to play their role as responsible citizens.

The Minister for Labour, Faisal Khan Tarakai, officially chaired the 87th meeting of the Governing Body (GB) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Employees Social Security Institution (ESSI), where he underscored a commitment to revolutionizing healthcare and administrative transparency for the province’s workforce. The session commenced with the formal confirmation of the minutes from the 86th Governing Body meeting, setting a foundation for the new strategic directives aimed at expanding the institution’s operational reach.
In a significant move to enhance patient convenience, the chair approved the opening of dedicated medical stores within the premises of existing Medicare centers and the Polyclinic in Peshawar, ensuring that laborers have immediate access to essential medicines. Furthering the expansion of the healthcare network, the meeting saw the formal approval for the establishment of a new Medicare center in District Swabi, a move designed to provide localized medical support to the region’s industrial hub. These infrastructure developments were coupled with a comprehensive review of procurement needs, specifically focusing on the acquisition of modern medical equipment and a new fleet of ambulances to upgrade the emergency response capabilities of KP ESSI.
To ensure the highest standards of fiscal responsibility, the body also moved to amend the audit process of ESSI accounts, proposing that all future financial evaluations be conducted through the Auditor General of Pakistan.
The meeting featured active participation from Governing Body member Muhammad Iqbal, who presented various suggestions to optimize institutional efficiency. Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai concluded the session by reiterating that the provincial government remains dedicated to providing high-quality care facilities and a transparent, accountable framework that prioritizes the dignity and well-being of the labor community.

In a major operation against drug traffickers in Peshawar, the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has carried out a series of coordinated raids, recovering more than three kilograms of crystal meth (‘ice’) and arresting four accused, including a woman.

The crackdown was launched in line with the zero-tolerance policy of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government against narcotics and on the directives of Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhar Jahan.

According to official details, the Excise Intelligence Squad recovered a total of 3,145 grams of ice during multiple operations conducted in different parts of the provincial capital. All four suspects were taken into custody and legal proceedings were initiated.

The operations were carried out by various field teams under the supervision of Provincial In-charge Excise Intelligence Saud Khan Gandapur and Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations) Majid Khan.

In the first operation, acting on a tip-off near the Pir Zakori Bridge, the Excise Intelligence Squad arrested drug trafficker Sajid Afridi and recovered 670 grams of ice from his possession.

In the second operation at the joint check post on the Peshawar Motorway, another trafficker, Muhammad Ibrahim, was arrested with 540 grams of ice.

In the third operation, conducted on a service road, a woman suspected of drug smuggling was arrested with the assistance of a lady constable and 1,035 grams of ice were recovered from her custody.

In the fourth operation at the joint motorway check post, the Excise team arrested Muhammad Imran son of Arif Ali and recovered 900 grams of ice during a personal search.

According to official information, separate cases have been registered against all the arrested suspects at the Excise Police Station, Peshawar Region and further investigation is under way.

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department reaffirmed its resolve to continue indiscriminate and sustained operations against narcotics to protect society, particularly the younger generation, from the scourge of drugs.

A meeting of the Board of Governors of Bacha Khan Model School for Girls, Totai Lai, District Buner, was held in Peshawar on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Arshad Ayub Khan, who is also the Chairman of the Board. The meeting was attended by Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education, Muhammad Khalid, Additional Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education, Muhammad Saleh, Chief Planning Officer of Elementary and Secondary Education, Zain Ullah, and other board members and relevant officials.
During the meeting, matters related to the construction, repair, and flood protection measures for the building of Bacha Khan Model School for Girls, including the construction of a protective wall along the stream, were discussed. It was reported that the cost of constructing the building would amount to approximately 70 million rupees.
In his address during the meeting, the provincial minister stated that the current government would utilize available resources to make Bacha Khan Model School for Girls a model educational institution. He mentioned that to protect the building from flood damages, it was essential to construct a protective wall along the stream. He further assured that the government would provide the required funds to renovate the school and restore it to its original form.
The provincial minister also announced a salary increase of 2,000 rupees for the staff of Bacha Khan Model School and added that, in the future, the institution would be upgraded from a high school to a higher secondary school.

چیف سیکرٹری خیبرپختونخوا شہاب علی شاہ کی زیر صدارت ایک اعلیٰ سطحی اجلاس منعقد ہوا جس میں رمضان المبارک کے دوران جاری عوامی ریلیف اقدامات، ترقیاتی منصوبوں کی پیش رفت، شجرکاری مہم، لینڈ یوز پالیسی پر عملدرآمد اور سرکاری خدمات کی ڈیجیٹائزیشن کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا گیا۔اجلاس کو بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے بتایا گیا کہ حکومت خیبرپختونخوا کی جانب سے رمضان المبارک میں عوامی ریلیف اقدامات تسلسل کے ساتھ جاری ہیں۔ چیف سیکرٹری آفس کے پرفارمنس مینجمنٹ اینڈ ریفارمز یونٹ کی جانب سے ایک خصوصی لائیو ڈیش بورڈ کے ذریعے رمضان اقدامات کی مؤثر مانیٹرنگ کی جا رہی ہے۔ یہ ڈیش بورڈ موقع پر ہی فیصلہ سازی کی سہولت فراہم کر رہا ہے جس کے باعث ضلعی انتظامیہ اور متعلقہ محکمے فوری کارروائی کو یقینی بنا رہے ہیں۔یکم رمضان المبارک سے اب تک صوبہ بھر میں ایک لاکھ سے زائد کاروباری و اشیائے ضروریہ کے یونٹس کی انسپیکشن کی جا چکی ہے، جن میں سے 29 ہزار مقامات پر قانون کی خلاف ورزی پائی گئی۔ خلاف ورزیوں پر ذمہ داران کے خلاف جرمانے عائد کیے گئے جبکہ متعدد کیسز میں ایف آئی آر بھی درج کی گئی ہیں۔ چیف سیکرٹری نے ہدایت کی کہ رمضان المبارک میں اشیائے خوردونوش کی دستیابی اور قیمتوں پر کنٹرول کے حوالے سے کسی قسم کی غفلت برداشت نہیں کی جائے گی۔اجلاس میں یہ بھی بتایا گیا کہ رمضان المبارک کے دوران روزمرہ کی بنیاد پر ریلیف سرگرمیوں کی نگرانی کی جا رہی ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ حکومت کی شجرکاری مہم بھی بھرپور انداز میں جاری ہے اور تمام ضلعی انتظامیہ کو اہداف کے حصول اور شفاف عملدرآمد کے لیے واضح ہدایات جاری کر دی گئی ہیں۔چیف سیکرٹری کو ترقیاتی منصوبوں سے متعلق بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے بتایا گیا کہ اہم ترین منصوبوں کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر فنڈنگ فراہم کی جا رہی ہے اور عوامی فلاح و بہبود کے ان منصوبوں کی بروقت تکمیل کے لیے اقدامات تیز کر دیے گئے ہیں۔ جو منصوبے تکمیل کے قریب ہیں، ان پر خصوصی توجہ مرکوز کی گئی ہے تاکہ عوام کو جلد از جلد سہولیات میسر آ سکیں۔پشاور اپلفٹ منصوبوں کو ترجیحات کی بنیاد پر دو حصوں میں تقسیم کیا گیا ہے۔ ان منصوبوں میں رنگ روڈ پر انڈر پاسز کی تعمیر، 34 پارکس کی اپ لفٹنگ، شہر کی 35 اہم سڑکوں کی بحالی و اپ گریڈیشن، رنگ روڈ اور جی ٹی روڈ پر روڈ فرنیچر کی بہتری سمیت دیگر شہری ترقیاتی اقدامات شامل ہیں۔ اجلاس میں چیف سیکرٹری نے ہدایت کی کہ ان منصوبوں میں معیار اور شفافیت کو ہر صورت یقینی بنایا جائے۔اجلاس کو مزید بتایا گیا کہ صوبے میں لینڈ یوز پلان اور ماسٹر پلانز کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے لینڈ یوز اینڈ بلڈنگ کنٹرول اتھارٹی کی جانب سے عمارتوں کے نقشوں کی منظوری دی جا رہی ہے، جس میں شہری منصوبہ بندی، ٹریفک مینجمنٹ اور ماحولیاتی تقاضوں کو مکمل طور پر پیش نظر رکھا جا رہا ہے۔ڈیجیٹائزیشن کے حوالے سے بریفنگ میں بتایا گیا کہ جون تک 170 سرکاری خدمات کو کیش لیس ایکشن پلان کے تحت آئی ٹی بورڈ کے ذریعے ڈیجیٹائز کر دیا جائے گا، جس سے شفافیت، سہولت اور گڈ گورننس کو فروغ ملے گا۔چیف سیکرٹری شہاب علی شاہ نے اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ رمضان المبارک میں عوام کو ریلیف کی فراہمی صوبائی حکومت کی اولین ترجیح ہے اور اس سلسلے میں تمام متعلقہ ادارے مربوط حکمت عملی کے تحت کام جاری رکھیں۔ انہوں نے ہدایت کی کہ ترقیاتی منصوبوں، شہری سہولیات، شجرکاری اور ڈیجیٹائزیشن کے اہداف مقررہ مدت میں مکمل کیے جائیں تاکہ عوام کو بہتر طرز حکمرانی کے ثمرات میسر آ سکیں۔

خیبر پختونخوا کے وزیر صحت خلیق الرحمٰن نے 320 نرسنگ افسران کو گریڈ 17 سے گریڈ 18 میں ترقی ملنے پر مبارکباد پیش کی ہے۔ یہ ترقی محکمانہ پروموشن کمیٹی کے 03.02.2026 کو منعقدہ اجلاس کی سفارشات کی روشنی میں دی گئی ہے۔جاری کردہ نوٹیفکیشن کے مطابق اسسٹنٹ ڈائریکٹر نرسنگ، ہیڈ نرسز، اسپیشلسٹ نرسز، کوالٹی کنٹرول نرسز، کلینیکل نرسنگ انسٹرکٹرز اور نرسنگ انسٹرکٹرز (گریڈ 17) کو ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر نرسنگ، نرسنگ سپرنٹنڈنٹ، سینئر اسپیشلسٹ نرس، سینئر ہیڈ نرس، نرس منیجر، ڈپٹی کوالٹی کنٹرول نرس، سینئر کلینیکل نرسنگ انسٹرکٹر، نرسنگ ٹیوٹر، وائس پرنسپل اور پرنسپل (گریڈ 18) کے عہدوں پر باقاعدہ بنیادوں پر فوری طور پر ترقی دی گئی ہے۔وزیر صحت خلیق الرحمٰن نے کہا ہے کہ نرسز کی ترقی ان کی پیشہ ورانہ صلاحیتوں، لگن اور صحت کے شعبے میں گراں قدر خدمات کا اعتراف ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ نرسنگ کیڈر کو مضبوط بنانا حکومت کی اولین ترجیحات میں شامل ہے کیونکہ نرسز ہسپتالوں میں مریضوں کی دیکھ بھال کا بنیادی ستون ہیں۔انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ بروقت ترقیوں سے ملازمین کے حوصلے بلند ہوتے ہیں اور سرکاری ہسپتالوں میں خدمات کے معیار میں مزید بہتری آتی ہے۔ وزیر صحت نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ حکومت صحت کے شعبے سے وابستہ تمام پیشہ ور افراد کے سروس معاملات کو میرٹ کی بنیاد پر حل کرنے اور ان کی پیشہ ورانہ ترقی کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے اقدامات جاری رکھے گی۔

خیبرپختونخوا کے وزیر ایکسائز، ٹیکسیشن و نارکوٹکس کنٹرول سید فخرجہان کی زیر صدارت ڈائریکٹوریٹ جنرل ایکسائز حیات آباد پشاور میں محکمہ ایکسائز کی مجموعی کارکردگی کے حوالے سے ایک اعلیٰ سطحی جائزہ اجلاس منعقد ہوا جس میں موٹر و وہیکل رجسٹریشن، ٹیکسیشن اور دیگر متعلقہ شعبہ جات میں مقررہ اہداف پر عملدرآمد، جاری اقدامات اور اب تک حاصل کی گئی کامیابیوں کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا گیا۔اجلاس میں سیکرٹری ایکسائز، ٹیکسیشن و نارکوٹکس کنٹرول خالد الیاس، ڈائریکٹر جنرل ایکسائز عبدالحلیم خان سمیت مختلف شعبوں کے ڈائریکٹرز، ایکسائز و ٹیکسیشن افسران اور متعلقہ حکام نے شرکت کی۔صوبائی وزیر کو محکمہ کی جانب سے مختلف مقررہ ٹاسکس پر پیش رفت، اہداف کے حصول کی صورتحال اور مجموعی کارکردگی سے متعلق تفصیلی بریفنگ دی گئی، جبکہ محکمے کی کارکردگی کے اعداد و شمار بھی پیش کیے گئے۔اس موقع پر صوبائی وزیر نے ہدایت کی کہ عوام کو فراہم کی جانے والی سہولیات، خدمات کے معیار اور محکمے کی مجموعی کارکردگی سے متعلق تمام اہداف ہر صورت مقررہ وقت میں حاصل کیے جائیں اور اس سلسلے میں افسران و عملہ اپنی کوششوں میں مزید تیزی لائیں۔صوبائی وزیر نے کہا کہ خصوصی اور من پسند نمبر پلیٹس کا منفرد منصوبہ ایک اہم اور نمایاں قدم ہے جس کے لئے عوام کی جانب سے زبردست دلچسپی اور پزیرائی مل رہی یے۔ان نمبرات کیلئے عوام کی جانب سے مزید ڈیمانڈ بھی موجود ہے۔انھوں نے کہا کہ ان نمبر پلیٹس کے حصول میں عوام کو مزید سہولتیں فراہم کرنے کیلئے مروجہ قوانین اور ضوابط میں اگر ترامیم کی ضرورت ہو تو بھی اس ضمن میں اقدامات اٹھائے جائیں تاکہ خواہشمند عوام کو انکی پسند کے نمبرات آسانی سے فراہم کئے جاسکیں۔انھوں نے کہا کہ عوام کی زیادہ دلچسپی کے باعث اس منصوبے سے حکومت کو ریونیو کی مد میں نمایاں فایدہ حاصل ہوگا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ ایز آف ڈوئنگ بزنس ماڈل کے تحت عوام کی سہولت کے لیے محکمہ ایکسائز کے تمام شعبہ جات میں طریقہ کار کو مزید آسان، شفاف اور موثر بنایا جائے تاکہ شہریوں کو بلاوجہ مشکلات کا سامنا نہ کرنا پڑے اور گڈ گورننس کے فروغ میں محکمہ بھرپور کردار ادا کرے۔صوبائی وزیر نے کہا کہ عوام کو سہولت اور معیاری خدمات کی فراہمی عمران خان کے وژن اور وزیر اعلیٰ خیبرپختونخوا محمد سہیل آفریدی کی قیادت میں صوبائی حکومت کی اولین ترجیح ہے۔انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ محکمہ ایکسائز کے تمام شعبہ جات میں اصلاحات، شفافیت اور جدید سہولیات کے ذریعے عوام کی خدمت کو مزید مؤثر بنایا جائے گا اور شہریوں کو بہتر خدمات کی فراہمی میں کوئی کسر باقی نہیں رکھی جائے گی۔

افطار ڈنر کے موقع پر باہمی مشاورت، علاقائی مسائل، جاری و مجوزہ ترقیاتی منصوبوں اور صوبے میں سیاسی ہم آہنگی کے فروغ پر تفصیلی تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔ سپیکر نے اس موقع پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ رمضان المبارک صبر، برداشت، اتحاد اور بھائی چارے کا درس دیتا ہے، اور ایسے مواقع منتخب نمائندوں کے درمیان روابط کو مضبوط اور مؤثر بنانے میں اہم کردار ادا کرتے ہیں۔
