The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering Fazal Shakoor Khan met with a representative delegation of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Workers Welfare Association at his office in Peshawar. The delegation was led by the association’s Patron-in-Chief, Pir Gul Ali Shah Marwat, along with other office bearers of the association.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the issues being faced by employees of the PHE department and other matters related to the department.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Fazal Shakoor Khan said that the provision of clean drinking water to the public is among the top priorities of the KP government, and all available resources are being utilized to make water supply schemes functional and effective. He clarified that preference is given to the concerned landowners in the appointment of tube-well operators, and no unrelated individual will be given priority over them.
The Provincial Minister further said that transparency, merit, and the rule of law would be ensured at all levels within the department, adding that no irregularity or negligence would be tolerated under any circumstances.
He assured the delegation that effective measures would be taken to address the legitimate concerns of employees and to improve water supply schemes, while all issues would be resolved on a priority basis in accordance with the government’s policy.
