During the meeting, the Directorate General Health Services (DGHS) gave a comprehensive presentation on the organizational structure (organogram) of the Directorate, the functions and responsibilities of its various sections, ongoing public health programmes, institutional performance, and key achievements. The briefing highlighted the role of the Directorate in strengthening primary and secondary healthcare services, disease prevention and control, maternal and child health, immunization, surveillance systems, emergency preparedness, and other public health initiatives across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Health Khaleeq ur Rehman emphasized that effective coordination, strong institutional governance, transparency, and accountability are essential for improving healthcare delivery throughout the province. The Minister directed the concerned officials to complete all preparations for the upcoming dengue season without delay and present a detailed update on the measures taken in this regard. He instructed that dengue surveillance, vector control activities, public awareness campaigns, hospital preparedness, diagnostic facilities, and the availability of medicines and essential supplies must be reviewed regularly to ensure complete readiness.

Khaleeq ur Rehman further directed all concerned authorities to strengthen coordination among the Health Secretariat, Directorate General Health Services, district health offices, hospitals, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and effective response. He directed the officials to focus on tangible outcomes rather than paperwork and to maintain continuous monitoring of all dengue prevention and response activities.

The Minister welcomed Secretary Health Fayaz Ali Shah and expressed confidence that his leadership and administrative experience would further strengthen institutional coordination and accelerate the implementation of health sector reforms.
