Construction work on Swabi Jail should be expedited and the project completed at the earliest: Shakeel Ahmed

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Communications and Works Shakeel Ahmed, on the special directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Ahmed Afridi, visited Swabi district, where he conducted a detailed inspection of the newly constructed Swabi Jail and reviewed the ongoing construction work.
Provincial Minister for Labour Faisal Khan Turkai, Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture Murtaza Khan Turkai, Members of the Provincial Assembly Abdul Karim Khan Tordher and Rangez Khan, as well as relevant officers of the Communications and Works Department, were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, Provincial Minister Shakeel Ahmed was given a detailed briefing on the construction project of the new Swabi Jail. He was informed that the project covers an area of 250 kanals and is being constructed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 3.2 billion. Around 80 percent of the construction work has been completed, while the remaining work is also progressing rapidly and will be completed soon.
Provincial Minister Shakeel Ahmed directed the relevant authorities to further accelerate the pace of construction and complete the remaining work within the stipulated period. He said that the timely completion of projects of public importance is among the government’s top priorities; therefore, no unnecessary delay in the completion of the project would be tolerated.
He further directed the concerned authorities to pay special attention to the quality and quantity of the construction work and ensure that the project is completed in accordance with all necessary requirements. He said that national resources are being spent on development projects, and therefore their transparent, quality-oriented and timely utilization would be ensured in all circumstances.
The Provincial Minister said that the government is strengthening the monitoring of ongoing projects related to public welfare and institutional needs across the province so that better facilities can be provided to the people.
