Provincial Minister for Health Khaleeq ur Rehman today visited Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar, where he conducted a detailed inspection of the medical facilities and health services being provided to passengers.
Airport authorities and medical staff briefed the Provincial Health Minister on the availability of the health desk, medicines and medical equipment, passenger screening arrangements, and overall preparedness to deal with health-related emergencies. The Minister was also given a detailed presentation on the medical facilities available at Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar, screening procedures, and diagnostic testing arrangements.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Health Khaleeq ur Rehman said that airports are major points of entry and exit for people travelling from different countries, regions, and diverse social backgrounds. He said effective medical screening and surveillance at airports are therefore essential to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and epidemics. He stressed the need for continuous monitoring, timely screening, early identification of potential health risks, and complete preparedness to ensure effective prevention and response.
The Provincial Health Minister visited different sections of Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar and personally reviewed the medical facilities and passenger screening arrangements. He appreciated the doctors, medical staff, and other relevant personnel deployed at the airport for providing medical services to passengers and maintaining round-the-clock preparedness.
In recognition of their professional services and excellent performance, the Provincial Minister presented certificates of appreciation to the doctors and medical staff and paid tribute to their dedicated services.
Khaleeq ur Rehman assured that the required number of doctors, paramedics, and other essential medical staff at Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar would be ensured and that no shortage of staff would be allowed. He further assured that vaccines would also be maintained in sufficient quantities to ensure uninterrupted medical screening and other related health services.
The Provincial Health Minister directed the concerned authorities to keep all medical facilities, medicines, medical equipment, vaccines, and passenger screening arrangements at Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar fully operational. He emphasized that passengers must be provided timely, quality, and effective medical assistance whenever required.
