Students of the Department of Criminology, University of Peshawar, led by Dr. Muhammad Abrar, visited the Narcotics Control Wing (NCW) of the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department as part of an educational study tour.
The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical insight into drug prevention efforts, anti-narcotics operations, law enforcement procedures, investigation techniques, and the operational functions of the Narcotics Control Wing.
During the visit, officers of the Narcotics Control Wing briefed the students in detail about the responsibilities of the department, initiatives being taken for the prevention of drug abuse, actions against drug trafficking, and the investigation of different types of narcotics-related cases.
On the occasion, Director Narcotics Control Muhammad Khalid Khan delivered a detailed presentation to the students. Dr. Majid Khan, Excise Narcotics Control Officer, and Dr. Hamidullah Khan, Circle Officer Peshawar & Mardan, also provided practical guidance regarding the procedures followed by law enforcement agencies during anti-narcotics operations.
They explained the importance of evidence collection, legal proceedings against accused, and the key factors considered in bringing cases to their logical conclusion.
Dr. Muhammad Abrar appreciated the cooperation of the officers of the Narcotics Control Wing and stated that such educational visits play an important role in helping students understand the practical requirements and challenges of the field along with their academic knowledge.
The students showed keen interest throughout the visit and appreciated the valuable information provided by the Narcotics Control Wing, describing it as highly beneficial for their academic and research pursuits.
The Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department will continue its collaboration with educational institutions to create awareness among the younger generation about the dangers of drugs, efforts for narcotics prevention, and the role of law enforcement in combating drug-related crimes.
