Youth Social Media Change Makers Summit held at UoP Baragali Campus.

A three-day Youth Social Media Change Makers Summit concluded at the Baragali Campus of the University of Peshawar, bringing together young social media enthusiasts from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to explore the constructive role of digital platforms in youth empowerment and social development.
The summit was held from December 31, 2025 to January 2, 2026, and was organized by WQ Software’s in collaboration with the Department of History, University of Peshawar, with sponsorship from the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Around 50 youth participants from different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took part in the event. The sessions focused on the importance of social media as a tool for positive change, responsible digital citizenship, youth-led advocacy, storytelling for social impact, and countering misinformation.
Speakers and facilitators highlighted how social media, when used ethically and strategically, can amplify youth voices, promote civic engagement, and support entrepreneurship, education, and community development. Interactive discussions and group activities encouraged participants to design digital campaigns addressing local social issues.
Participants and organizers lauded the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for its continued support in creating learning platforms for young people. The Directorate was appreciated for investing in youth capacity building and recognizing the potential of digital skills in shaping future leadership. Speakers noted that such initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to empowering youth through innovation, inclusion, and forward-looking policies.
Representatives from the organizing team stated that the summit aimed to transform young social media users into responsible change makers, capable of using digital platforms for awareness, social cohesion, and positive narrative building about the province.
At the closing ceremony, participants expressed gratitude to the Directorate of Youth Affairs KP, WQ Software’s, and the University of Peshawar for providing a productive learning environment.
Certificates were distributed among participants, with a resolve to take the lessons learned back to their communities and digital spaces.
The summit concluded with a call for sustained collaboration between public institutions, academia, and the private sector to further strengthen youth engagement through meaningful and ethical use of social media.
