KP INFO MINISTER ORDERS IMMEDIATE END TO UNANNOUNCED POWER OUTAGES IN KOHAT

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister on Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan has on Thursday directed the WAPDA authorities to immediately end unnecessary and unannounced electricity load-shedding in Kohat, expressing strong concern over prolonged power outages that have disrupted daily life and business activities.
The directives were issued while chairing a high-level meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kohat. The meeting beside others, was also attended by the Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, Assistant Commissioner Naveed Ahmad, former Gumbat Tehsil Mayor Sajid Iqbal, Qasim Zubair, focal person to MNA Shehryar Khan Afridi, local elders and officials of WAPDA.
Participants reviewed the impact of prolonged and unannounced power cuts on residents, commercial activities and public services, stressing that extended outages had created serious hardships for consumers across the district.
Shafi Jan said ensuring the provision of basic public services remained a top priority of the provincial government and that unnecessary power outages were unacceptable. He directed the WAPDA authorities to improve the electricity distribution system, promptly address technical faults and ensure timely resolution of public complaints.
WAPDA officials briefed the meeting on the challenges affecting electricity supply, load management and the measures being taken to improve the power distribution network.
The minister emphasized that tangible improvements should be made without delay to provide immediate relief to the public.
