خیبرپختونخوا کے وزیر ہائیر ایجوکیشن و بلدیات مینا خان آفریدی نے صوبائی وزیر اطلاعات شفیع جان اور چیئرمین ڈیڈک کوہاٹ داؤد آفریدی کے ہمراہ کوہاٹ یونیورسٹی آف سائنس اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی میں پاکستان کی جدید ترین لیزر ریسرچ لیبارٹری کا افتتاح کر دیا۔. اس موقع پر انہوں نے کہا کہ صوبائی حکومت نوجوانوں کو عالمی مسابقت کے تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ کرنے کیلئے تحقیق، جدت اور صنعت سے منسلک اعلیٰ تعلیم کو ترجیح دے رہی ہے۔ افتتاحی تقریب میں وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سید ظفر الیاس، سیکرٹری بلدیات ظفرالاسلام، ڈپٹی کمشنر کوہاٹ محمد نواز وزیر، اساتذہ، طلبہ اور مختلف شعبہ ہائے زندگی سے تعلق رکھنے والے افراد نے شرکت کی۔ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے مینا خان آفریدی نے کہا کہ پاکستان تحریک انصاف کے بانی عمران خان کے وژن کے مطابق معیاری اعلیٰ تعلیم کا فروغ صوبائی حکومت کی اہم ترجیحات میں شامل ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ جامعات کو اپنے تعلیمی پروگراموں کو صنعت اور مارکیٹ کی ضروریات سے ہم آہنگ کرنا ہوگا تاکہ فارغ التحصیل طلبہ کیلئے روزگار کے بہتر مواقع پیدا کئے جا سکیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ خیبرپختونخوا حکومت نے سرکاری جامعات کی سالانہ گرانٹس میں 13 گنا اضافہ کیا ہے تاکہ تدریس، تحقیق اور بنیادی ڈھانچے کو مضبوط بنایا جا سکے۔ ان کے مطابق جامعات کی کارکردگی بہتر بنانے کیلئے یونیورسٹی رینکنگ انیشی ایٹو کے تحت 880 ملین روپے بھی مختص کئے گئے ہیں۔ وزیر تعلیم نے کہا کہ کوہاٹ یونیورسٹی نے تدریس اور تحقیق کے میدان میں نمایاں صلاحیتوں کا مظاہرہ کیا ہے تاہم عالمی جامعات اور صنعت کے ساتھ مضبوط روابط قائم کرنا مشترکہ تحقیق، جدت اور ٹیکنالوجی کی منتقلی کیلئے ناگزیر ہے۔ یونیورسٹی حکام نے لیزر ریسرچ لیبارٹری کو سائنسی تحقیق اور تکنیکی ترقی کے شعبے میں ایک اہم سنگ میل قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ سہولت طلبہ، اساتذہ اور محققین کو جدید تحقیقی انفراسٹرکچر فراہم کرے گی اور سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی میں نئی اختراعات کی راہ ہموار کرے گی۔ بعد ازاں مہمانوں نے کسٹ پرفارمنس ایوارڈز کی تقریب میں شرکت کی جہاں نمایاں کارکردگی دکھانے والے اساتذہ، محققین اور انتظامی افسران میں شیلڈز، نقد انعامات اور دیگر اعزازات تقسیم کئے گئے۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سید ظفر الیاس نے بتایا کہ صوبائی حکومت نے یونیورسٹی کیلئے آئی ٹی پارک، ویمن کیمپس، ہنگو کیمپس اور طلبہ کی سفری سہولت کیلئے 5 نئی بسوں کی بھی منظوری دی ہے جبکہ مزید کئی جدید منصوبے بھی زیرِغور ہیں۔ تقریب کے اختتام پر معزز مہمانوں نے نئی لیزر لیبارٹری کا دورہ کیا، وہاں نصب جدید آلات کا معائنہ کیا اور مون سون شجرکاری مہم کے تحت پودے بھی لگائے۔ اس موقع پر اس امید کا اظہار کیا گیا کہ یہ لیبارٹری پاکستان میں سائنسی تحقیق کو نئی جہت دے گی اور اعلیٰ تعلیم کے شعبے میں جدت و تحقیق کے فروغ میں اہم کردار ادا کرے گی۔

Provincial Minister for Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khaleeq ur Rehman, attended an orientation session on Cervical Cancer Awareness and Prevention organized by the Health Department at Peshawar Barracks for District Health Officers (DHOs) and District Education Officers (Female).

During the session, participants received a comprehensive briefing on the importance of early detection of cervical cancer, preventive vaccination, public awareness, screening programmes, and interdepartmental coordination. Addressing the participants, the Provincial Minister for Health stated that cervical cancer is a preventable disease and that timely diagnosis, effective awareness campaigns, and vaccination can protect a large number of women from this life-threatening illness.

Khaleeq ur Rehman said that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has placed the protection of women’s health among its highest priorities and remains fully committed to strengthening efforts aimed at preventing cervical cancer. He assured the participants of the Health Department’s full administrative, technical, and operational support, emphasizing that all available resources would be utilized to achieve this important public health objective.

The Provincial Minister urged District Health Officers and District Education Officers (Female) to play an active role in expanding awareness campaigns at the district level so that more women and adolescent girls can benefit from preventive measures, including vaccination and screening services. He reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to promoting public health and ensuring the provision of quality healthcare services for women across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering, Fazal Shakoor Khan, held an important meeting with a high-level delegation of the World Bank at his office. The delegation was led by Carlo Emidi and Robert Wrobel, while Project Director Adnan Ahmad also attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on the progress of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Programme (KP-RIISP), a mega initiative being implemented in the Merged Districts.

Participants reviewed the overall progress of the programme, ongoing development schemes, effective utilization of funds, future implementation strategy, and measures to ensure the timely completion of projects.

The World Bank delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing projects aimed at providing safe drinking water, modern sanitation services, improving rural infrastructure, and expanding access to essential public services across the Merged Districts. Both sides agreed to further accelerate the pace of implementation so that local communities could benefit from these projects at the earliest.

The delegation appreciated the progress achieved under KP-RIISP, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Public Health Engineering Department(PHED), and reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to continuing its support for the programme.

On the occasion, Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan requested the World Bank to expand the scope of KP-RIISP beyond the Merged Districts to include the settled districts of KP, enabling more communities across the province to benefit from improved water supply and modern sanitation services.

The meeting also included detailed discussions on climate resilience and flood mitigation in light of recent flood-related challenges. The Provincial Minister urged the World Bank to extend financial and technical support for the construction of flood protection embankments and other related mitigation projects, particularly in district Charsadda, to help minimize future flood risks and protect vulnerable communities.

He said that providing safe drinking water and modern sanitation facilities to the people of the Merged Districts remains a top priority of the KP government. He said that the (KP-RIISP) would play a vital role in improving public health standards, expanding access to essential services, and bringing sustainable and long-term improvements to the lives of the people.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of ensuring timely completion of all projects, maintaining transparency, strengthening monitoring mechanisms, and implementing all activities in accordance with international standards. The Provincial Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure that all development schemes are completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the highest standards of quality and transparency to maximize public benefit.

Concluding the meeting, the Provincial Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the current KP government to working closely with the World Bank and other development partners to further strengthen initiatives related to safe drinking water, sanitation, public infrastructure, and climate resilience, with the objective of achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life for the people of the province.

The meeting approved the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, endorsed the annual performance for 2025, ratified the university’s Annual Report 2024-25, and approved other key administrative and financial matters.

Addressing the session, Adviser on Agriculture and Pro-Chancellor Mian Muhammad Umar said the Agricultural University Peshawar is playing a pivotal role in the development of the province’s agriculture sector, promotion of modern research, and advancement of higher education.

He stressed that the university must adopt the path of self-reliance to further improve its academic standards, research activities and administrative capacity. “This will enable the institution to utilize its resources effectively and further strengthen its identity at both national and international levels,” he added.

The adviser assured that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Higher Education Department and the Agriculture Department would continue to provide all possible support for the university’s development, financial stability and promotion of academic and research activities.

He noted that the university has unique opportunities in the form of research farms, modern research laboratories and other core facilities. He urged agricultural experts to make full use of these resources to enhance research on crops, soil, irrigation, climate change and other agricultural challenges. “This will provide scientific guidance to the farming community, help increase agricultural productivity, and create better opportunities for students to engage in practical research,” he said.

The Senate conducted a detailed review of the university’s financial and administrative performance. Future strategy, development projects and academic goals of the institution also came under discussion. It was reiterated that joint efforts would continue to make Agricultural University Peshawar a model institution for research, innovation and agricultural education.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Agriculture, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, along with other members of the Senate.

At the conclusion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sarzameen Khan thanked Adviser and Pro-Chancellor Mian Muhammad Umar, Secretary Agriculture Dr. Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, and all Senate members for attending the meeting and approving the important decisions.

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Technical Education, Muhammad Usman Khan Bettani, said that providing technical education and vocational skills to the youth is the key to sustainable employment and economic stability in the province. He termed the provision of Income Generating Projects, Livelihood Grants and Non-Food Items by Qatar Charity a commendable initiative, stating that the distribution of rickshaw loaders, electric sewing machines and other business equipment will help empower young people, create dignified employment opportunities and contribute to their economic rehabilitation.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony jointly organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (KP-TEVTA) and Qatar Charity at a local hotel in Peshawar. The event was attended by H.E. Yousuf Mohammed Hussein Saleh Al Braik, Ambassador of the State of Qatar; Secretary Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Amjad Ali Khan; Qatar Charity Pakistan Programs Manager Waqas Haleem; Regional Director Jassim Mohammed Al Sumaiti; and Managing Director KP-TEVTA Abdul Qadir Shah, who also addressed the participants.

On the occasion, Muhammad Usman Khan Bettani said that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is implementing comprehensive reforms to align technical education with the needs of industry so that young people acquire skills that are in demand in the job market. He said that the government’s responsibility is not merely to award certificates but to equip students with practical skills, enabling them to secure dignified employment or establish their own businesses after completing their education.

He further stated that the government’s vision is to strengthen institutional governance in the technical education sector, enhance collaboration with industry, improve the performance of training institutions and effectively link technical education with economic development. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that every training programme leads to employment, self-reliance and economic empowerment, enabling youth to play a meaningful role in national development.

The Special Assistant appreciated the services of Qatar Charity, noting that the organization has been working in Pakistan for many years in the fields of humanitarian assistance, welfare and economic rehabilitation. He said Qatar Charity is not only providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to deserving individuals but is also contributing to long-term development through business support, quality improvement, beneficiary guidance and continued assistance.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Special Assistant Muhammad Usman Khan Bettani and H.E. Yousuf Mohammed Hussein Saleh Al Braik distributed rickshaw loaders, electric sewing machines and other business equipment to trained beneficiaries under the Livelihood Grants programme, while Non-Food Items were also distributed among deserving families.

It was also shared that Qatar Charity had distributed 122 wheelchairs among deserving persons in the districts of Peshawar, Mardan and Charsadda. The distinguished guests later visited exhibition stalls showcasing the project’s activities and reviewed various components of the initiative.

وزیر اعلیٰ خیبر پختونخوا کے معاون خصوصی برائے خوراک ڈاکٹر محمد اسرار خان کی ھدایات پر فوڈ سیفٹی اینڈ حلال فوڈ اتھارٹی نے صوبے کے مختلف اضلاع میں غیر معیاری، مضرِ صحت اور ملاوٹی خوراک کے خلاف گزشتہ روز پشاور،مردان اور ہری پور میں بڑی کارروائیاں کرتے ہوئے جعلی مصالحہ جات، غیر معیاری مشروبات اور مصنوعی دودھ برآمد کرکے تلف کر دیا، جبکہ مشینری بھی ضبط کر لی گئی۔ترجمان فوڈ سیفٹی اتھارٹی نے تفصیلات جاری کرتے ہوئے کہاکہ پشاور میں فوڈ سیفٹی ٹیموں نے مشترکہ کارروائی کرتے ہوئے پیپل منڈی میں ایک دکان سے 1400 سے زائد پیکٹس جعلی اور غیر معیاری مصالحہ جات، جعلی سرکہ اور مس لیبل اشیائے خورونوش برآمد کرکے ضبط کر لیے گئے۔ اس حوالے سے دکاندار کے خلاف فوڈ سیفٹی قوانین کے تحت کارروائی شروع کر دی گئی ہے۔ادھرمردان کے فوڈ سیفٹی ٹیم نےتخت بھائی کے علاقے میں تحصیل انتظامیہ کے ہمراہ کارروائی کرتے ہوئے مصنوعی دودھ تیار کرنے والی فیکٹری بے نقاب کر دی، جہاں سے 2000 لیٹر سے زائد مصنوعی اور مضر دودھ تلف کر دیا گیا، جبکہ تیاری میں استعمال ہونے والی مشینری بھی ضبط کرکے مزید قانونی کارروائی بھی آغاز کر دیا گیا۔ترجمان کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ ہری پور میں ایک بیوریجز فیکٹری کے نمونے لیبارٹری تجزیے میں غیر معیاری ثابت ہونے پر 1500 لیٹر سے زائد مشروبات موقع پر تلف کر دیے گئے اور فیکٹری مالک پر بھاری جرمانہ عائد کیا گیا۔معاون خصوصی برائے خوراک ڈاکٹر محمد اسرار نے کامیاب کاروائیوں پر فوڈ سیفٹی ٹیموں کو سراہا اور کہا کہ جعلی، ملاوٹی اور غیر معیاری خوراک کے کاروبار میں ملوث عناصر کے خلاف بلاامتیاز کارروائیاں جاری رہیں گی۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ عوام کو محفوظ، معیاری اور حلال خوراک کی فراہمی حکومت کی اولین ترجیح ہے اور انسانی صحت پر کسی قسم کا سمجھوتہ نہیں کیا جائے گا۔

سیکرٹری محکمہ ابتدائی و ثانوی تعلیم خیبرپختونخوا خالد خان نے کہا ہے کہ رواں سال صوبے کی داخلہ مہم گزشتہ تمام ریکارڈ توڑ دے گی اور ستمبر تک سکول سے باہر لاکھوں بچوں کو تعلیمی اداروں میں داخل کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے واضح کیا کہ داخلہ مہم کے حوالے سے پھیلایا جانے والا منفی پروپیگنڈا بے بنیاد اور حقائق کے منافی ہے، کیونکہ اب تک چھ لاکھ سے زائد بچوں کو سرکاری سکولوں میں داخل کیا جا چکا ہے، جو گزشتہ سال اسی عرصے کے مقابلے میں نمایاں طور پر زیادہ تعداد ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ موسمِ گرما کے دوران داخلہ مہم کی رفتار عارضی طور پر سست ہو جاتی ہے، تاہم جیسے ہی گرمیوں کی تعطیلات ختم ہوتی ہیں اور ستمبر کا آغاز ہوتا ہے تو داخلہ مہم مزید مؤثر انداز میں آگے بڑھتی ہے۔ انہوں نے یقین ظاہر کیا کہ ستمبر تک داخلوں میں ریکارڈ اضافہ دیکھنے میں آئے گا اور مقررہ اہداف سے بھی بہتر نتائج حاصل کیے جائیں گے۔ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے مردان بورڈ میں منعقدہ کھلی کچہری سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ اس موقع پر ڈائریکٹر ایجوکیشن، ڈسٹرکٹ ایجوکیشن آفیسرز (میل و فیمیل)،محکمہ تعلیم کے افسران، اساتذہ اور عوام کی بڑی تعداد بھی موجود تھی۔کھلی کچہری کے دوران اساتذہ اور شہریوں نے محکمہ تعلیم سے متعلق اپنے مسائل، تجاویز اور شکایات سیکرٹری کے سامنے پیش کیں۔ سیکرٹری ابتدائی و ثانوی تعلیم نے متعلقہ حکام کو مسائل کے بروقت حل کے لیے ضروری ہدایات جاری کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ عوام کو معیاری اور بہتر تعلیمی سہولیات کی فراہمی حکومت کی اولین ترجیح ہے۔انہوں نے بتایا کہ صوبائی حکومت نے سرکاری سکولوں میں فرنیچر کی فراہمی کے لیے سات ارب روپے سے زائد فنڈز جاری کیے ہیں، جبکہ پیرنٹ ٹیچر کونسل (PTC) فنڈز کی مد میں بھی اربوں روپے فراہم کیے گئے ہیں۔ اس وقت ہر سکول کے پی ٹی سی اکاؤنٹ میں لاکھوں روپے موجود ہیں تاکہ مقامی سطح پر ضروری تعلیمی سہولیات کی فراہمی کو یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔خالد خان نے کہا کہ سال 2022 میں بھرتی ہونے والے اساتذہ کی ریگولرائزیشن کا معاملہ جلد حل کر لیا جائے گا، جس کے لیے سمری صوبائی کابینہ کو ارسال کر دی گئی ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید بتایا کہ سکولوں میں طلبہ کی بڑھتی ہوئی تعداد کے پیش نظر نئے کلاس رومز کی تعمیر کے لیے بھی اربوں روپے مختص کیے گئے ہیں تاکہ گنجائش سے زیادہ طلبہ کے مسئلے کو مستقل بنیادوں پر حل کیا جا سکے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ درسی کتب کی کمی کے دیرینہ مسئلے کے خاتمے کے لیے سمسٹر وائز کتابوں کی فراہمی کا نیا نظام متعارف کرایا جا رہا ہے، جس سے کتابوں کی بروقت دستیابی ممکن ہوگی اور یہ مسئلہ مستقل طور پر حل ہو جائے گا۔سیکرٹری ابتدائی و ثانوی تعلیم خالد خان نے مزید بتایا کہ حکومت طلبہ کی کیمپنگ پر بھی خصوصی توجہ دے رہے ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں آئندہ سال ایک لاکھ طلبہ کی کیمپنگ کا ہدف مقرر کیا گیا ہے تاکہ طلبہ کو نصابی سرگرمیوں کے ساتھ ساتھ غیر نصابی، تربیتی اور قائدانہ صلاحیتوں کے فروغ کے بہتر مواقع بھی فراہم کیے جا سکیں۔تقریب کے اختتام پر سیکرٹری خالد خان نے اساتذہ، محکمہ تعلیم کے افسران اور دیگر شرکاء کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہوئے اس عزم کا اظہار کیا کہ صوبے میں معیاری تعلیم کے فروغ، تعلیمی سہولیات کی بہتری اور ہر بچے تک تعلیم کی رسائی کے لیے حکومت تمام دستیاب وسائل بروئے کار لائے گی۔

خیبرپختونخوا کے وزیر ایکسائز، ٹیکسیشن و نارکوٹکس کنٹرول سید فخر جہان کی ہدایات پر ضلع بونیر میں جدید سیف بلڈ ٹرانسفیوژن سنٹر کے قیام کے لیے محکمہ صحت اور محکمہ مواصلات و تعمیرات (C&W) خیبرپختونخوا کی مشترکہ ٹیم نے ڈی ایچ کیو ہسپتال بونیر میں مجوزہ مقام کا تفصیلی سروے کیا۔یہ منصوبہ سالانہ ترقیاتی پروگرام (ADP) 2026-27 کے تحت سکیم کوڈ 260104 میں شامل ہے۔ سروے کا مقصد منصوبے کے لیے مختص جگہ کا تکنیکی جائزہ لینا اور تعمیراتی تقاضوں کا تعین کرنا تھا تاکہ منصوبے پر جلد عملی کام کا آغاز یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔محکمہ صحت کے سیف بلڈ ٹرانسفیوژن پراجیکٹ کے پراجیکٹ مینجمنٹ یونٹ (PMU) کے نمائندوں نے موقع کا معائنہ کیا، جبکہ محکمہ مواصلات و تعمیرات کے حکام کو منصوبے کا تفصیلی لاگت کا تخمینہ جلد از جلد تیار کرکے متعلقہ فورم کو پیش کرنے کی ہدایت کی گئی تاکہ منصوبے پر پیش رفت میں تیزی لائی جا سکے۔اس موقع پر متعلقہ سرکاری محکموں کے نمائیندوں کے علاوہ سید دیا الملک، اور پی ٹی ائی چیرمین و رکن قومی اسمبلی بیرسٹر گوہر علی خان کے فوکل پرسن بخراد خان بھی موجود تھے۔ جدید سیف بلڈ ٹرانسفیوژن سنٹر کے قیام سے ضلع بونیر اور گردونواح کے عوام کو محفوظ خون کی بروقت فراہمی، ہنگامی طبی سہولیات میں بہتری اور صحت کے شعبے کی استعداد کار میں نمایاں اضافہ ہوگا۔ یہ منصوبہ عوام کو معیاری طبی سہولیات کی فراہمی اور ترقیاتی وعدوں کی تکمیل کی جانب ایک اہم سنگِ میل ثابت ہوگا۔
