The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has intensified its special enforcement campaign against unregistered vehicles, vehicles bearing fake or unauthorized number plates, and token tax defaulters across Peshawar to ensure compliance with traffic and taxation laws.
As part of the ongoing drive, an Excise team led by Excise and Taxation Officer (I) Private Vehicles Peshawar, Masaud-ul-Haq, conducted operations in various parts of the city and inspected a large number of vehicles.
During the operation, officials thoroughly examined vehicle registration documents, number plates, and token tax records. Legal action was taken against vehicles found to be unregistered, using self-manufactured or illegal number plates, or involved in token tax violations. In addition, several vehicle owners were informed on the spot about the importance of complying with legal requirements and paying their dues in a timely manner.
Speaking on the occasion, ETO Masaud-ul-Haq stated that the use of unregistered vehicles and vehicles without proper legal documentation not only constitutes a violation of the law but also creates challenges in crime prevention and vehicle identification. He emphasized that token tax is an important source of public revenue and that its timely payment is the responsibility of every citizen.
He urged vehicle owners to ensure timely registration of their vehicles, use officially approved number plates, and pay token taxes regularly to avoid legal action.
He further stated that the special campaign will continue in the future to facilitate the public, strengthen the rule of law, and improve revenue collection across the province.
