Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan along with Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Tourism and Culture Malik Adil Iqbal in a video message welcomed the record influx of tourists to province during Eid-ul-Adha and said that whether it is Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid-ul-Adha, tourists from across Pakistan as well as foreign visitors have consistently been attracted to province’s scenic tourist destinations over the past several years.

Shafi Jan said that provincial government is taking comprehensive measures to provide best facilities to tourists. Large number of visitors to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is clear evidence that province is not only blessed with natural beauty but is also considered among safest tourist destinations in the country. He added that government is actively introducing new tourist sites and taking practical steps to further develop tourism sector.

On the occasion, Special Assistant on Tourism and Culture Malik Adil Iqbal said that under the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Founder Chairman Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi for the promotion of tourism, excellent facilities were provided to tourists during Eid-ul-Adha.

He informed that Eid holidays of Tourism Police personnel were cancelled to ensure uninterrupted services, while tourist facilitation centres established at various tourist destinations remained fully operational throughout the Eid holidays.

According to Malik Adil Iqbal, from May 27 to May 31, a total of 1,267,568 tourists visited various tourist attractions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including merged districts. The figure included approximately 200 foreign tourists. Statistics show that Swat Valley received highest number of visitors, with 416,794 tourists recorded during Eid-ul-Adha. Naran Valley welcomed 187,954 tourists, while Galiyat attracted 148,828 visitors.

He further stated that a total of 394,682 tourists visited various tourist destinations in merged districts. South Waziristan recorded 144,000 visitors, while 92,112 tourists visited District Orakzai.

Malik Adil Iqbal said that tourism-related activities during Eid-ul-Adha generated an estimated revenue of Rs 8 to 12 billion for the province. He added that record influx of tourists reflects growing public confidence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s tourism-friendly policies, effective management, services of Tourism Police, and facilities provided to visitors. He noted that this trend would further strengthen both the tourism sector and the local economy.

A weekly governance review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah reviewed Eid-ul-Adha arrangements, public service delivery measures, and public feedback from across the province.

The meeting was informed that, on the directives of the Chief Minister, a comprehensive Eid-ul-Adha management plan had been implemented across all districts. The plan covered 40 key areas, including sanitation and timely disposal of animal waste, traffic management, facilities at tourist destinations, monitoring of livestock markets, transport fares, security arrangements, price control measures, livestock vaccination, and public safety around rivers and dams.

Officials briefed the meeting that all districts had successfully implemented the assigned tasks under the plan.

According to the briefing, more than 100,000 tonnes of waste and animal remains were disposed of during the Eid holidays, while over 2,500 veterinary staff members performed duties related to livestock health and vaccination.

Authorities also took action against illegal livestock markets, resulting in the closure of 197 unauthorized cattle markets across the province.

The meeting was further informed that 2,779 markets were inspected as part of price control efforts. During these inspections, 777 violations were detected, while 532 shops were sealed for breaching official regulations.

To ensure public safety at recreational sites, inspections were carried out at 145 amusement facilities and 561 food outlets, with necessary legal and administrative action taken where required.

Officials stated that district control rooms remained operational round the clock throughout the Eid holidays, ensuring continuous monitoring and coordination of public service delivery. As a gesture of goodwill and humanitarian outreach, government officers also visited hospitals, prisons, and orphanages during the festive period.

Appreciating the performance of the district administrations and relevant departments, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah directed officials to further improve the quality of public services. He said a comparative ranking of districts based on sanitation performance was being carried out and that a comprehensive report was being prepared to recognize and encourage the best-performing districts.

Adviser to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Agriculture, Mian Muhammad Umar has said that several new development projects have been proposed under Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026-27 to promote agricultural growth, modern technology, efficient utilization of water resources, climate change adaptation and farmers welfare.

He stated that proposed initiatives aim to increase agricultural productivity, strengthen rural economy, and create new opportunities for agricultural development across the province, particularly in the merged districts. He expressed these views while chairing a review meeting on Agriculture Department’s Annual Development Programme.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Agriculture Dr. Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, Special Secretary Agriculture Parvez khan, Director Generals of various wings of the Agriculture Department and other relevant officials.

During the meeting, Adviser Agriculture was given a detailed briefing on ongoing and proposed development projects under Annual Development Programme for 2026-27. It was informed that 16 projects under proposed ADP and seven projects under the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP) would be launched in merged districts.

The proposed initiatives include promotion of innovate farming through advanced agricultural machinery, installation of solarized tube wells and efficient groundwater management systems to enhance agricultural production, promotion of biological pest control and feasibility studies for cold chain infrastructure to reduce post-harvest losses, expansion of olive cultivation, strengthening of virus-free seed potato production systems, establishment of a tissue culture laboratory for Dhakki dates and upgradation of germplasm resource centres.

To empower youth and develop human resources in agricultural sector, the government is also introducing interest-free loans for agriculture graduates, educational scholarships in agricultural sciences and internship programmes. Other important initiatives include the establishment of a Mountain Agricultural Research Centre in Lower Dir, promotion of temperate horticultural crops, estimation of greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural sector, improvement of crop estimation systems, development of command areas of small dams, enhancement of irrigation infrastructure and expansion of smart irrigation projects. Agriculture Department has also proposed a major project titled “Protection of Vulnerable Agricultural Land through Land Stabilization Structures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” to address the challenges posed by climate change and land erosion. Under this project, 1,150 agricultural land stabilization structures will be constructed across the province, including merged districts, to protect farmland from erosion, rainwater runoff and declining soil fertility. Similarly proposed programme includes projects aimed at supporting women farmers in the merged districts, promoting small businesses, encouraging cultivation of high-value crops and seasonal vegetables in Tirah Valley, establishing a Tribal Agricultural Research Centre, promoting honey production and ensuring sustainable management of water resources.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan has strongly condemned the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar Khan and other party lawmakers in Gilgit-Baltistan.
In a statement issued here, the provincial minister termed the action of the Gilgit-Baltistan government an illegal move and a blatant example of political victimization. He said the arrest of elected representatives is against democratic norms and a direct insult to the public mandate.

Shafi Jan stated that participating in an election campaign is the constitutional, legal, and democratic right of every political party. However, he regretted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is being denied even this fundamental democratic right.
He said that while other political parties are being allowed to campaign freely in Gilgit-Baltistan, only Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is being deliberately targeted and obstructed. He questioned what the Gilgit-Baltistan government fears that it has resorted to arresting elected public representatives.
The provincial minister said such undemocratic tactics cannot weaken the determination of PTI’s leadership and workers. Despite political pressure and retaliatory actions, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will continue its struggle with the support of the people.
Shafi Jan further stated that the government has become fearful of Imran Khan’s public popularity and has therefore adopted pre-election retaliatory measures and undemocratic tactics.
He added that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan will reject the politics of revenge through the power of their vote and will once again prove their support for Imran Khan by ensuring a decisive victory for PTI candidates.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan, spent Eid-ul-Adha among prisoners, patients, orphan children and the public during visits to various institutions in Buner, reflecting the spirit of compassion, public service and social responsibility on the festive occasion.
The provincial minister visited District Jail Daggar, Buner, where he met inmates, exchanged Eid greetings with them and shared moments of joy on Eid-ul-Adha. On the occasion, Syed Fakhar Jehan also inquired about issues relating to facilities and welfare of the prisoners.
Later, the minister visited District Headquarters Hospital Daggar, Buner, and inquired after patients undergoing treatment in different wards of the hospital. He met patients and their attendants, asked about the medical facilities being provided to them and conveyed Eid greetings.
Syed Fakhar Jehan also directed the hospital administration and medical staff to ensure timely and better healthcare facilities for patients.
The provincial minister also visited Aman Kor on Eid-ul-Adha, where he spent time with orphan children and shared Eid celebrations with them. The children expressed happiness and affection during their interaction with the minister. Deputy Commissioner Buner Shehryar Qamar, DPO Buner Ateeq Shah, Assistant Commissioner Daggar Dr.Hira Ahsan, MS DHQ Hospital Buner Dr. Farooq Sayar, TMO Daggar and Assistant Director Local Government were also present during the visits.
Meanwhile, on Eid day and the following days, a large number of public delegations, local elders, party workers and people from different walks of life visited the residence of Syed Fakhar Jehan to extend Eid greetings. The provincial minister thanked the visitors and conveyed his good wishes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continues its crackdown against narcotics smuggling across the province. In this regard, the Excise Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation carried out a major operation on Eid day and foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of narcotics.

According to details received from the Excise Department, under the supervision of Provincial Incharge Akif Nawaz Khan, the Excise Bureau of Intelligence team conducted an operation near Naguman , Charsadda Road based on secret information.

During the search of a suspicious vehicle bearing registration number AZB-319 Sindh, the team recovered 72 kilograms of charas and 5 kilograms of ice (crystal meth).

Following the incident, a case has been registered at Excise Police Station Peshawar Region for further investigation and legal proceedings.

Officials of the Excise Department stated that, in line with the directives of the provincial government and Minister for Excise Syed Fakhar Jehan, indiscriminate operations against drug dealers and smugglers will continue in order to protect society from the menace of narcotics.

خیبرپختونخوا کے وزیر برائے اعلی تعلیم و بلدیات نے کہا ہے کہ صوبے میں عیدالاضحی کے تہوار کے سلسلے میں تمام متعلقہ حکام اور گراونڈ سٹاف کی چھٹیاں منسوخ کر دی گئی ہیں تاکہ عوام کو بلا تعطل خدمات کی فراہمی ممکن ہو۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تمام واٹر سینیٹیشن کمپنیز، تحصیل میونسپل ایڈمنسٹریشنز اور ویلج کونسلز نے صفائی اور نکاسی آب کی خدمات کے متعلق پلانز تیار کر لیے ہیں. ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے اطلاع سیل، ڈائریکٹوریٹ اف انفارمیشن اینڈ پبلک ریلیشنز خیبرپختونخوا میں منعقدہ پریس بریفنگ سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا. وزیر بلدیات مینا خان افریدی نے عیدالاضحی کے موقع پر اٹھائے جانے والے اقدامات کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ محکمہ بلدیات نے عیدالاضحی کے حوالے سے ریجنل، ضلعی، تحصیل اور ویلج کونسل سطح پر تیاریاں مکمل کر لی ہیں جو عید سے قبل اور بعد بھی جاری رہیں گی۔ تمام خیبرپختونخوا سے تقریبا 50 ہزار ٹن الائشوں کو ٹھکانے لگانا متوقع ہے. خدمات فراہمی کے تمام لیولز پر کلیکشن پوائنٹس سے الائشوں اور گند کو اٹھایا جائے گا، جو براہ راست ڈمپنگ پوائنٹس پر ٹھکانے لگایا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ مجموعی طور پر 17782 افراد پر مشتمل ورک فورس عیدالاضحی کے موقع پر خصوصی طور پر تعینات کیا گیا ہے. جبکہ 5698 صفائی گاڑیاں خدمات پر مامور رہیں گی.صوبائی وزیر مینا خان افریدی نے مزید تفصیلات شئیر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ الائشںوں کی ماحول دوست طریقے سے ٹھکانے لگانے کے لیے 48095 بائیو ڈیگریڈیبل بیگز عوام میں تقسیم کیے جا چکے ہیں. انہوں نے عوام سے اپیل کرتے ہوئے کہ صفائی خدمات فراہم کرنے والے ٹیم کے ساتھ تعاون کرے تاکہ عیدالاضحی کے موقع پر خیبرپختونخوا کو صاف ستھرا رکھا جائے.

وزیراعلیٰ خیبرپختونخوا سہیل آفریدی کے خلاف سوشل میڈیا پر چلائی جانے والی خبر سراسر من گھڑت، گمراہ کن اور حقائق کے برعکس ہے۔ بعض عناصر دانستہ طور پر عوام کو غلط تاثر دینے کی کوشش کر رہے ہیں کہ وزیراعلیٰ نے اپنے کسی رشتہ دار یا بھتیجے کو سرکاری خزانے سے رقم دی، جبکہ حقیقت اس کے بالکل برعکس ہے۔مشیر برائے کھیل و امور نوجوانان تاج محمد خان ترند نے واضح کیا ہے کہ مذکورہ 20 لاکھ روپے کسی فردِ واحد یا وزیراعلیٰ کے کسی مبینہ بھتیجے کو نہیں دیے گئے۔ اصل حقیقت یہ ہے کہ نشتر ہال پشاور میں “ینگ لیڈرز پارلیمنٹ” کا ایک باقاعدہ پروگرام منعقد ہوا تھا جس کے مہمانِ خصوصی وزیراعلیٰ خیبرپختونخوا سہیل آفریدی تھے۔ اس تقریب میں ینگ لیڈرز پارلیمنٹ کی جانب سے نوجوانوں کی فلاح و بہبود اور صلاحیتوں کو اجاگر کرنے کیلئے گرانٹ اِن ایڈ کی درخواست کی گئی، جس پر وزیراعلیٰ نے سینکڑوں شرکاء کی موجودگی میں 20 لاکھ روپے گرانٹ دینے کا اعلان کیا۔یہ پروگرام ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف یوتھ افیئرز کے زیرِ اہتمام منعقد ہوا تھا، لہٰذا صوبائی کابینہ سے باقاعدہ منظوری لی گئی ہے۔ ابھی تک یہ رقم ینگ لیڈرز پارلیمنٹ کو جاری نہیں کی گئی۔ تمام codal formalities اور قانونی تقاضے مکمل کرنے کے بعد یہ رقم شفاف طریقے سے نوجوانوں کی تنظیم کو فراہم کی جائے گی۔ اس پورے عمل میں نہ کوئی خفیہ معاملہ ہے اور نہ ہی کسی قسم کی اقربا پروری شامل ہے۔حقیقت یہ ہے کہ نوجوانوں کو بااختیار بنانا، ان کی صلاحیتوں کو اجاگر کرنا اور انہیں مثبت سرگرمیوں کیلئے مواقع فراہم کرنا عمران خان کا وژن اور پاکستان تحریک انصاف کے منشور کا حصہ ہے۔ تحریک انصاف کی حکومت نوجوانوں کو قومی ترقی میں مؤثر کردار دینے کیلئے عملی اقدامات پر یقین رکھتی ہے۔افسوس کی بات یہ ہے کہ بعض لوگ ذاتی پسند و ناپسند یا سیاسی مخالفت میں حقائق کو توڑ مروڑ کر پیش کر رہے ہیں اور عمران خان کے نظریے کے نام پر جھوٹا پروپیگنڈا پھیلانے کی کوشش کر رہے ہیں۔ عوام سے گزارش ہے کہ سوشل میڈیا پر پھیلائی جانے والی ہر خبر پر آنکھیں بند کرکے یقین کرنے کے بجائے حقائق کو جانچیں اور منفی پروپیگنڈے کا حصہ بننے سے گریز کریں۔
